I am a new DSLR owner and wanted a bag that did not look like a standard photo bag. I have had several messenger bags (mostly Timbuk2). But since they did not make a photo bag, my search led me to Crumpler. I am very impressed with their quality. I like the velcro silencer since that does bug me at times.
